Look: Tiny snake rescued from sink drain cover in Pennsylvania
Aug. 14 (UPI) -- Animal rescuers in Pennsylvania came to the assistance of a tiny snake that slithered through the holes of a metal sink drain cover and became stuck.
The Raven Ridge Wildlife Center in Washington Boro said it received a call recently from a nearby resident who discovered a tiny baby snake stuck in her metal sink drain cover.
"We do not rehabilitate reptiles at Raven Ridge, but we will always try our best to help one in trouble," the wildlife center said in a Facebook post.
The snake was brought to the center, where a rehabilitator administered a sedative to keep the tiny reptile from struggling and used a lubricant to safely extract it from the drain cover.
The center said the serpent, identified as a Dekay's brown snake, will be released "into a safer location."
