If you have hair longer than a few inches and you take showers, chances are you’ve clogged up your own shower drain with enough strands of hair to create a second head at some point in your life. If you’re a mom, chances are even higher that this happens regularly (because hormones + hair loss/growth are just part of life now). In a hilariously relatable video, Kristen Bell shares how her daughter and husband gently—but perfectly—roast her for this very thing.
In her latest Instagram post, Bell shows a note written by her eldest daughter, Lincoln, that describes a “fishing” expedition she and Bell’s husband, Dax Shepard, embarked upon in said shower.
“Look how sweet my family is, they left me a note in my sink,” Bell said while aiming her phone camera at the mirror.

“It says, ‘Dear Mom. Me and dad went fishing in the shower drain and dad caught a fish and I caught a minnow,'” Bell reads. “I know you love fish, so me and dad are going to hand them over to you. Sincerely, Lincoln.'”

Bell then shows two giant clumps of hair, presumably the “fish” that were caught in the shower drain. She captioned the post, “How generous,” which has now gone viral on Instagram.
“Absolutely revolting,” Bell says at the end of the video.
As someone with A LOT of hair who has experienced two rounds of postpartum hair loss, one round of post-Covid hair loss, and a ton of regrowth/shedding in between, I know I’ve been exhaustingly roasted by my husband and children for the amount of long brown hairs they find everywhere—especially in our drains. Sorry not sorry, family of mine! Seeing this video from Bell lets me know I’m not alone in my hair-glob ridicule.

Last summer, Bell and Shepard shared how important it is to them to parent Lincoln and her younger sister, Delta, to be a team as siblings.

“I want to really instill in them, ‘You are a team. We made two of you so that there would be someone for you guys when we pass, so you guys are to be the strongest relationship you have on the planet, even if you disagree,'” Bell explains. “‘You don’t have to agree on everything, but you do have to maintain the sense of unconditional love for each other.’”
